Trichromatic Vision

Trichromats have three types of receptor used in colour vision. This means they can see colours based on the relative stimulation of these three receptors. We humans are trichromatic, seeing red (longwave), green (mediumwave), and blue (shortwave) parts of the light spectrum.

We have found evidence of two trichromatic predators: humans and vervet monkeys.
